Well if you think about it, how are they able to get all that sugar out and still have it taste so good?

Weight management is about creating good habits and making good food choices. So let’s start by eliminating diet soft drinks from your diet.
How many people do you know have lost weight drinking diet soda? Not too man I would guess. That’s because unless you make healthy lifestyle changes, a diet drink won’t be much help.
It’s easy to read the the label and see that there are zero calories and sugar and think to yourself, at least I don’t have to worry about this drink adding to my calories. This is true, but what you don’t see are the artificial sweeteners that have been added to each drink.
I mean, how else are they able to make it sugar free yet still make it taste so good. In today’s world where so much of our foods are processed and have added chemicals in them, how can you trust something that doesn’t have sugar but still keeps its taste.
You would think due to these drinks being calorie and sugar free, that they would help prevent sugar related diseases like diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Unfortunately there is no evidences to suggest that.

Now you may think to yourself, since there is no hard evidence showing diet soda being the exact cause of metabolic syndrome, then why should I be worried. I would then ask, why take a risk on something that provides no nutritional value, and has the possibility of causing such diseases. Which leads me to my next point.
Of course most people who choose to drink diet soda, aren’t drinking it for the vast amount of nutrients it provides(sarcastically speaking). Taste is what is driving people to the stores to go and buy it.
But knowing the risk factors that are associated with diet drinks, why risk your health on something that provides no nutritional value other than taste. If anything, diet soda may be addictive which can lead to bad habits like overeating.
Don’t get me wrong, having a cheat meal from time to time is ok, but if having a diet soda is your drink of choice during lunch, then major changes need to take place.
When it comes to health and fitness, reaching your goals is about being disciplined and consistent. In order for that to happen, you have to form good habits.
Providing your body with healthy fuel is going to get you the results you are looking for. If you are serious about achieving your goals, then there is no reason to ever need to fill your body with a soft drink. Unless it’s a mix of ginger ale and vodka, but that is a topic of discussion for another day.
Work towards cutting soft drinks out of your diet and you will notice the change immediately. Creating good habits is how you build a foundation towards a more healthy you.
