So why would you think you can solve your issue so quickly.

This is why I like weight loss programs like Noom. They focus on helping you get results in a healthy way.

By educating you on importance of creating better habits

So before you go searching for all the quick fix solutions out there, there are some things you need to know.

1. Weight Loss Is Not Just Physical, But Also Mental

Too many times we think that all we need to do is eat right and exercise, and we’ll have the body we want.

Unfortunately for many, this isn’t the case.

You see so much advertisement that is geared towards the physical aspect, but neglect the mental part. Things like:

  • Stress,
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • No confidence
  • Lack of knowledge

Any one of these factors can limit your ability to lose weight. As they can affect the amount of motivation you have to actually want to lose weight.

So it’s important to understand that diet and exercise may not be enough to help you overcome the struggles of losing weight.

Noom does a great job of helping manage both the mental and the physical aspect of losing weight.

Making sure you find ways to attack the mental barriers that may be preventing you from living a healthier life will be key.

2. Tracking Your Diet and Exercise Helps

Data is such a key component when it comes to improving your overall health. From counting calories to logging diet and exercise.

Making sure you have an idea of how you’re doing in regards to your health can make all the difference.

This is probably why fitness trackers have become so popular in today's culture.

They allow you to track things like sleep, meals, and activity level.

Tracking allows you to increase your awareness when it comes to your health, which helps improve it overall.

3. You Can Eat More And Still Lose Weight

Losing weight still comes down to burning more calories than you consume.

So regardless of how much you eat, if you’re able to burn more calories throughout the day, you will see results.

It’s more important to watch what you eat, rather than how much you eat.

For example, if you focus on foods that fill you up without adding too much calories, then you can find yourself eating more and still losing weight.

But what foods can you eat? Try consuming calorie density foods like fruits and vegetables.

They are a great option since they don’t carry too many calories.

If you were to consume 1 cup of fruits compared to 1 cup of chocolate, you will find that the fruits have less calories.

Not only that, but you will also get the same belly filling effects. This can be a very effective method for losing weight.

Noom provides its users with a green foods list that lets you know how each food item can impact your diet based on calories.

4. Not All Carbs and Sugars Are Bad

We’ve all heard the notion that carbs are bad for you so do your best to stay away from them.

When in reality, carbs are a necessary nutrient for the body to function effectively.

If you’re someone that is looking to lose weight, then you may want to cut back a bit, but don’t eliminate it all together.

I’m someone that eats white rice EVERYDAY!

But i’m also someone that exercise 5 days a week, and swims twice a week. So I’m pretty active, thus I burn a lot of calories.

And believe it or not, I’m trying to gain weight...lol. So the notion that carbs are bad for you is complete nonsense.

You want to make sure you stay away from processed carbs and sugars obviously.

Try sticking to rice (white or brown), wheat bread, and of course natural sugars. Remember, most of the time weight loss comes down to managing calories.

The most efficient way to do this is by being both active, and maintaining a healthy diet.

5. Get A Good Night’s Rest

By allowing your body to rest, you’re giving it time to repair itself. So by not getting proper sleep, the body is not able to function properly.

Assuming you’re keeping up with your daily exercise, by not getting enough sleep, you’ll be too tired to want to exercise.

Thus burning less calories throughout the day, which could affect how much weight you could possibly lose.

Depending on which study you’ve read, they will say that 6-8 hours is enough. But I’m big on you listening to your body.

Figure out the amount of hours where you’re feeling your freshest.

Whatever that number is, try to shoot for the number every night. For me, I found that 6-7 hours works best.

6. Make Sure The Body Is Hydrated

If you didn’t know by now, the majority of our body is made up of water, and there’s a good reason for that.

Water allows our body to function efficiently throughout the day. Have you ever suffered from dehydration?

You can’t think clearly, you start to get dizzy and confused.

These are the type of things that can happen when the body isn’t properly nourished.

So when it comes to losing weight, water is known to help curb your appetite. Along with curbing your appetite, water is known to:

  • Increase calorie burning
  • Removes waste from the body
  • Helps burn fat
  • Helps improve your workouts

All of these things are crucial to helping you lose weight effectively. The body is like a machine. If not taken care of, it will not work the way it’s supposed to.

Your metabolism which is crucial to burning fat will slow down and make losing weight even harder.

So making sure you’re hydrated consistently throughout the day will help you in your weight loss efforts.

You Don’t Need To Lose Weight, You Need Better Eating Habits

I know a lot of us get stuck on the numbers on the scale. But sometimes it’s not about how much you way, but how you look and feel.

Obviously if you’re like 5”5’ and you weigh 300 lbs, then yes it may be important to lose some weight.

But a lot of times what you need is to burn fat.

If you focus on creating better habits in regards to your diet and exercise, you will find that your body will change for the better, regardless if you’re losing weight or not.

If you find yourself struggling to create better habits for yourself, I would recommend you try out the Noom weight loss program.

They focus on helping people attack the mental aspect of losing weight, as well as the physical.

If you’re interested, I would definitely recommend you take a look.
