But before you try to find out if it will get you the results you are looking for, you have to ask yourself why you are looking to make the purchase in the first place.

The Maxi Climber is ideal for anyone that has some degree of physical fitness and would prefer to workout at home, rather than their crowded local gym. You get 24/7 access to this machine in the comfort of your very own home that will last for years.

Where at a gym you would have recurring monthly payments in which you would be pretty much donating since your motivation to go would surely dissipate.

Durable Steel

If a machine’s goal is the mimick the same movements as rock climbing, then that machine would need to make sure it is as sturdy as the rock you imagine to be climbing.

The Maxi Climber is made up of durable cold-rolled steel instead of cheaply made plastic. Allowing you to focus primarily on your workout. This makes sense since the expectation when using the Maxi Climber is fast and vigorous movements.

So making sure you will be secure and not have to worry about the machine falling apart is crucial. The machine does have a tendency to slide a bit as you increase the intensity of your workout, so you want to make sure you have a bit of room in the area of the Maxi Climber.

Putting it together shouldn’t feel like a workout before you actually start to workout. As soon as the box is opened, you will be ready to start your exercise routine and get your sweat on.

Easy Storage

Finding Space shouldn’t be too difficult.  Exercising wouldn’t be as fun if you had to workout in a room the size of a closet. So when deciding to make a purchase on any exercise equipment, knowing you have the size to operate the machine is important.

If you live in a small 1 bedroom apartment, then it might be difficult to operate the Maxi Climber, but if you have just a decent amount of space, then you should have no issues with fitting the Maxi Climber in your home.

So this is a great way to avoid that recurring monthly membership at your local gym and avoid the commute and stress of an overcrowded gym. Having the Maxi Climber in the comfort of your own home would be a big plus in helping you reach your fitness goals.

The Maxi Climber can be a very intense machine to use when starting out, so starting off with much shorter workouts at least 3 days a week and then building up to longer workouts is ideal. Once you are able to gauge how your body responds after each workout, then continue to increase the intensity.

So starting off with 10 minute workouts and then progressing to much longer workouts is a good way to go. As you continue to build up your cardio and endurance, 5 days a week should be sufficient. 1. Love this machine! Well, not from personal experience as I have never owned one. But I really like the sound of it. I really do not like running so I have been trying to find alternate exercises. As I am not a gym going, I like the idea of doing this at home. Currently I have been looking into jump rope. How would you compare the Maxi Climber to just doing jump rope for a regular exercise? Thanks!

    • Hey Damron! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I would say both workouts are dependent on preference as both exercises are great cardio workouts. If you are looking to also improve your coordination, then jumping rope is a great way to go to help improve on that. Although jumping rope can less stressful on the knees compared to other exercises, if you are someone who does struggle with a big of knee pain, then the Maxi Climber is great since there are is no added pressure on the joints.

  2. Great comprehensive review of the maxi-climber. I love the idea that it is easy to store. I always hated the idea of a treadmill sitting in the middle of the room, even one that just folds up. It appears this would be ideal for just about anyone who wants to increase their cardiovascular fitness. Thanks for the review.

  3. Hey Ralph,
Great write-up on the Maxi Climber. I didn’t realize that it burns more calories than a treadmill, which usually is my go to piece of equipment. Plus, it’s much cheaper and easier to use and store than a treadmill.

I have been reluctant to buy home exercise equipment due to the price and the space constraints. This answers both and seems like it’s easy to set up and break down.

This is getting added to my birthday wish list, which is coming up relatively soon!

    Thanks for posting,
    Jim

    • Thanks Jim! what also makes it a great machines is the fact that it is low impact on your joints, so definitely a big plus. Hope you have a Happy Birthday!

  4. This looks great! I love the idea of working out at home – no babysitter needed to watch the kids if my husband has a meeting or isn’t home from work yet… perfect.
I have a bad back though that can’t handle high impact. Running and jumping of any kind is out. Running up and down stairs is not ok either. Any idea on what kind of impact this machine has? You write that it’s a bit like rock climbing… sounds like it might be ok.

    • This machine is great if you have some back pain as it will not have any impact on it. So you should have no problems with the maxi climber as far as back pain goes.
