What To Expect From Both Workouts

The Insanity workout uses what is called Max Interval Training. It’s a workout that involves getting the heart rate up for a certain time period followed by short rest, allowing the heart rate to go back down. So you shoulddefinitely expect to sweat A LOT!

The only thing you need to worry about is being able to actually handle the workout. Because I would be lying to you if I said that this workout was easy. But let’s be honest, transforming your body the way you want to should never be easy.

If you are able to follow the program consistently, you will definitely see your body fast decrease and weight loss as you will burn a lot of calories.

My only concern is the lack of resistance training which to me is key to efficiently burning body fat. This workout seems to be primarily cardio, and too much cardio can break down muscle.

Regardless of the lack of resistance training that is involved in this workout, you will undoubtedly get results with this workout if you put in the work.

If you asked people who they thought was the face of the beachbody brand, I can almost bet you that Tony Horton’s name would come up more times than not. What makes it even more amazing is the fact that the guy is almost pushing 60 years of age.

Clearly he’s doing something right.

I can remember when trying out P90X for the first time and seeing Tony’s face, I knew I was in for an intense workout. Before you even get started, you can expect him to provide much needed motivation to get your mind ready to get through the workout.

This workout does require a bit of fitness equipment like pull-up bars and yoga blocks, so do expect to have these on hand.

P90X vs Insanity Workout – Which Is The Tougher Program?

When comparing two elite workout programs such as these two, people always want to know which one is the tougher program. My answer, both hare pretty tough to handle. You would easily be splitting hairs when comparing the two.

They both will require you to put your body through things it’s rarely been put through before. So if you are someone that is just starting with exercise, I would probably recommend you starting with something less intense.

Unless you like a challenge of course, then go for it. Just make sure to go at your own pace and make safety a priority.

But if I were to choose which program tested me the most, I would probably give the edge to Insanity. The reason is, cardio has always been a struggle for me, and insanity definitely tests your cardiovascular.

When it comes to getting in shape, having motivation and being consistent are necessary tools needed to get results. But for a lot of people, this can be difficult due to many people finding their workouts boring.
