How To Eat More And Lose Weight

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could learn how to eat more and still lose weight.  Now I know what you’re eat-morethinking, how is it possible when every fitness magazine and health commercial preaches about how you should watch what you eat.

Well what these magazines and commercials fail to mention is, when it comes to managing your weight, whether your goal is to lose or gain weight, it all comes down to CALORIES!

Secret to losing weight

As we all know, there’s more to losing weight than just eating less.  If that were the case then we would have a lot of thin people walking around and obesity wouldn’t be as rampant as it is today.  

Regardless of what anyone tells you, losing weight is all about putting your body in a calorie deficit.  If you burn more calories than you consume, you will see the numbers on the scale start to drop immediately.

The problem unfortunately is that it’s not like there’s a calorie counter hovering over our heads letting us know where we stand when it comes to calorie intake.

So unless you keep track of every calorie you consume and burn, you will have to make sure to create the habit of eating more quality food.

Eat Quality food

As the saying goes, “you are what you eat.” So if you eat like crap, you pretty much gonna look like crap.  So let’s work on trying to avoid eating and looking like crap.  Eating quality food is super important if you want quality-foodto reach your fitness goals.

Making sure you are eating lean proteins, quality carbs and healthy fats. This should be the main goal of your diet.  Eating junk food will not get it done, plus it’s bad for your health.

Making the choice to eat quality foods does require discipline and consistency, but you will learn that eating this way will allow you to each much more than you think without worrying about gaining too much weight.

Spread meals out during the day

As you continue to eat quality food, you will notice that because you are creating this habit of eating better food, you will see yourself getting hungry more often.

Now don’t get nervous, I know all this eating sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen as far as managing your weight goes.  But trust me, I am trying to create a path of better health for you so continue to follow.  The way you manage this is by making sure you eat like every 3 hours.

Making sure you main meals are breakfast lunch and dinner with snacks in between meals. Eating this often will stop your body from cannibalizing itself.  Which is the process of the body looking for energy in the absence of food.

This process causes your metabolism to slow down which can cause weight gain.  So you’re probably still wondering how all this eating helps in the weight losing process.  Based on all this eating, seems like you would need to burn off a lot of calories.  BINGO!  When it comes to burning calories, it’s all about being active.

Be Active

Regardless if you like to exercise at the gym or go for long walks in the park.  The body naturally burns calories on its own, but at a much slower rate.  So the only way to increase the calorie burning process, is by increasingactive the intensity level of your activity.

Being active requires a lot of energy from the body, so in order for the body to sustain the energy it needs for you to keep going, you need to feed it.

That is why as stated in the previous paragraph, it is important to eat every three hours so you are always sustaining energy throughout the day.

If you provide the body with proper fuel, it will run very well.  Almost like a ferrari that requires the best fuel in order to run as smooth as it does.

So making sure you participate in an activity that is really going to have you burn a lot of calories is key to having efficient weight loss.

Build Muscle

One of the most efficient ways to manage weight is by building muscle.  What makes building muscle so efficient, is that the body requires a lot of energy to sustain those muscles.  

Remember, burning calories is all about making the body expand more energy than it consumes.  If you are able to do that, it’s like having the body on auto drive.  Even while you are asleep or resting on the couch, the body is constantly at work providing energy to feed itself.  

You will find yourself hungry more often as you increase your activity, thus losing weight since you are trying to keep up with all the calories you are burning from this increased activity.

That is why you hear fitness professionals always stressing the importance of building muscle because of the the many benefits it provides for your overall health.

Final Thoughts

It is important to understand that eating too much is not the sole reason you see many people not in the physical shape they wish they could be.  

There are many other factors that contribute to people not looking the way they want to look.  Whether it is poor eating habits or not being physically active enough, it is possible to eat the food you love and still maintain a healthy weight.  

As long as you are maintaining a quality diet and engaging in some physical activity, you will find that enjoying your favorites foods is possible along with having that amazing body you long for.
