Get $50 Off Your First Two Boxes

As you can see from the box above, each meal plan comes out to around 9-10 dollars per serving.

Which is right around the amount you would pay if you decided to eat out, or significantly less depending on where you live and if you count gratuity.

If you are interested in learning more about blue aprons cost, you can click here for a more detailed article on it.

Is It Really Free?

At the checkout screen, you will notice that you are given a discount towards your purchase. You’re probably asking yourself, I thought it was free.

Although you are not given a totally free trial on your first order, what you are getting is 3 free meals on your first purchase.

If you remember in the pricing box above, each meal costs about 9-10 dollars, so blue apron is basically giving you $30 dollars off on your first purchase with them.

So you will either be paying as low as $21.95 for the 2-Person Meal Plan, or the Family Plan where it will cost yous as low as $49.92

But to know if it is worth it, will depend on a few factors.

Is It Worth It?

To know if the service is for you or not, will depend on your meal planning habits.

If you are someone that is on a tight budget and chooses to purchase your own groceries and like to prepare your food a certain way, then blue apron might not be what you are looking for.

It is perfectly ok to have a set of rules when it comes to your budget and not let a good service like blue apron change that.

Maybe you have a large family and a serving size like what blue apron offers just isn’t enough to feed your family. Blue apron’s meal plans go as high as four, so anything larger than that, would make it difficult for a family to enjoy.

Although if you are someone that has to eat out a lot because it is difficult to find time to cook a meal due to your busy schedule. Well you may find blue apron as a more affordable and healthier option.

Not only that, when you allow someone else to prepare your food, you have zero control of what is being put into your food.

With blue apron, you have all the control of the type of ingredients that is being put into your food. This in itself is healthier for anyone that is looking to create better eating habits.

Also if you are looking for variety and have a family of 4, then blue apron could be a perfect fit for your meal planning needs.

Blue apron offers a variety of meals and each serving is large enough to satisfy any family. It’s like being at a restaurant looking at the menu, but way healthier.

How To Redeem Your Offer

In order for you to redeem your offer for free meals, you first have to enter blue apron’s website. Most of the time you will see an orange box located in the top center screen.

You will then be asked to click the orange box to redeem your offer. You will eventually have to create an account and give an email address which will basically get your account ready for your free trial.

You are then taken to the next screen where you will be able to select your meal plan. Once you are done selecting your meal, you will then proceed to check where you will need to enter your delivery and billing information.

Try It Risk Free With NO Commitments

Although blue apron’s meal delivery service may not be for everyone, blue apron does make it easy for you to try without having to worry about being stuck in a contract.

They make it easy for you to skip meals for any week you don’t need it and allow you to cancel for any reason with no questions asked.

So if you wanted to try it out for one week and decide that blue apron services isn’t for you, you can just cancel it as you please.

For me, this eases my mind when trying out a product or service knowing that I am able to stop something if needed.

This was a very informative article. I always heard of blue apron before but never really knew how it worked or what their prices were.

I myself am kinda of a picky eater — and also it’s just me and my wife so I don’t think I would find this useful personally.

Have you ever tried blue apron out before? If so what was your experience like and did you enjoy the food?

Ralph,
What a great review!
I am currently using Blue Apron at the moment and I have to say one thing, I love it!
I must say, it is a little more expensive than buying your own groceries and cooking it from scratch but it is definitely much better than going out to eat. You get great tasting food and at the same time have control over how healthy you want your meal to be. The best part is that everything is delivered to you and you even get to learn how to cook from the instructions that is provided.

Excellent!

    Hey Marvin,

I agree, it can be a little expensive if you are someone that likes to buy their own groceries and cook from scratch. But if you are someone that tends to eat out a lot and find it difficult to go grocery shopping after a long day at work, this is definitely a good service to try. What makes trying it even easier is that you can do so risk free. Thanks for commenting.

Very timely article. I have thought about trying Blue Apron, but didn’t know if it was for me or not. My wife really enjoys cooking, and we have two fast growing kids. I think it’s really convenient if you are a single person, or maybe a couple. It’s nice that the meals come ready to cook. I can definitely see value for some folks. It’s also super convenient, you don’t have to make plans to go out, and wait in line. I definitely see the value.

Do you know how long Blue Apron has been in business? Also are there competitors out there?

    Hi Steve,

Blue apron is definitely a good service, and very popular at the moment. Although I would admit that it is not for everyone, but there are many that would find this service very useful. Blue apron has been in business since 2012 and yes there are many competitors out there. I plan on writing a review about some of them in the near future, so definitely be on the lookout for them
