If you’re thinkin about becoming a personal trainer, then finding the right Program is important.  But with so many to choose from, finding one that will get you the training and credentials you need to train clients effectively can be difficult.

That’s why it’s important to make sure you do your research and choose a program that will get you the training you need to help clients looking to get in shape.

In this ACE personal training certification review, I will break down how this program can help you be the personal trainer you need to be when it comes to training any type of client.

What ACE Certification Program Has To Offer

If you’re like me, then i’m sure you did a bunch of research on other programs to help find you the best program to go with.  You will find community colleges offering classes and even online programs claiming to be able to provide quality education.

But you will learn quickly that when it comes to getting the best personal training education, the certification you eventually get needs to be certified by the NCCA (National Commission of Certifying Agencies).  They are there to give credibility to a very non-regulated profession.

There are only a few programs that are NCCA certified, and ACE is one of them.  So when choosing a program, it’s important to make sure that the certification has the credibility to let your clients know you have the knowledge to train them.

ACE Price Packages

If you feel that the ACE training program is for you, then the next step is to find a package that fits your budget.  ACE offers three different packages which you can check below.  They usually have discounted prices available so it’s always good to ask if it’s not already shown on the site.

Why Get Certified With ACE?

If you’re serious about getting into the fitness industry and hoping to work with clients in a gym, then it’s important to be certified as most gyms will not accept you without a certification.  There are only so few elite programs out there, and  American Council on Exercises is one of them.

ACE personal training certification is really good for beginners since they provide you with the skills to train a diverse group of trainers.  Although I do believe it is important to specialize when it comes to perfecting your craft, it is also important to try different things until you find what you like.

Hey Ralph,
I have been looking into this for a while and I have really hesitated to sign up because there are so many programs out there that sound great but I wasn’t sure if they were really going to give me the best information. I like that this course is certified by the NCCA as this gives me great confidence it is a worthwhile course.
Does ACE offer follow up information and support after the course is completed?

Hey Chris! Yeah you would be amazed at the wealth of knowledge you get from being certified. I worked out for years and it wasn’t until I got certified where I learned I was doing everything wrong. After complete your certification, you can log into your account and get access to resources, but to be honest, I rarely go back in there to check on anything. But that’s just me.

It looks like the Premium Plus package is less expensive than the Standard package. That’s a big drop! And, it looks like just about everything that is needed…is included.

How does the quality and thoroughness of the ACE certification packages compare to those offered by the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM)?

If they are equal or better…then, I think ACE is the way to go because, the NASM is much more expensive!

    Ralph - April 23, 2017

Hey Jim! Yea the prices for Ace really do make it easy to go with the premium package. As someone that received my CPT certification from NASM and my Youth certification from ACE, both have excellent programs. NASM made it really easy for me to study and grasp what I was learning, but as you said, they can definitely be a little expensive compared to ACE. Although I really liked how structured NASM was, it’s hard to go against the prices ACE offers with the added credibility. So my advice is if you are someone that is on a budget, than ACE may be the way to go, but if you are someone that struggles with studying and reading a book just isn’t enough, NASM is structured really well to help you pass the exam.

I don’t know much about being a personal fitness trainer so I was glad to see that in order to be a fitness trainer that you do need some type of certificate. It is also good to see that you cannot go and get just any certificate. I was always under the impression that anyone who is into fitness could represent themselves as a personal trainer so I am glad to see that is not the case at all. I am also surprised at the cost of getting certified. This is good information for those wanting to work in the fitness industry.

Hi Maureen! Unfortunately, it doesn’t really take a certificate for anyone to consider themselves a fitness trainer. It’s just that most gyms require that you are certified in order to work in their facility. But if someone wanted to train someone out of their garage, they could do it and get paid for it if they are willing to. It does help though that most fitness facilities do require the certification which is good.
