Weight watchers uses a point system that makes counting calories easy. Noom keeps it simple by using regular calories to help you understand what you are putting into your body.
Noom also makes the use of a personal coach a priority, whereas weight watchers has that as an option but at a much higher cost. I plan on getting into the cost of both programs later in this article.
Noom – when it come to the noom coach weight loss program, regardless of which membership option you choose, you get access to your own personal coach.
For many, having this luxury can be the difference between getting results or not. Knowing that you have someone that is knowledgeable holding you accountable for your actions.

Noom – There’s nothing complicated when it comes to how Noom tracks your calories when logging your meals. Not only do they break the calories down by each meal you eat, but they also break it down by food item.
For those that struggle with what to make on a daily basis, noom also provides you with healthy recipes to make managing your diet simple.
Each food item or meal has the calorie amount, along with color labels to help keep you aware of the food choices you’re making whether healthy or not. Feedback is also provided based on your choices, which will hold you accountable along the way.
Weight Watchers – uses a “smartpoints” system where the goal is to accumulate the lowest amount of points as possible when consuming your meals. Each food item or meal is assigned points based on how healthy it is.
Healthy foods are assigned lower points, whereas unhealthy food items are higher. With their program, you are given a point budget. This budget is based on calories goals, so it’s important to stay under that dietary budget.
Weight watchers has made some adjustments to their system by calling it the freestyle program. There have been a lot of debate as to whether it is effective or not due to its zero points foods system. I plan on going into more detail about in in my quick review.

Regardless of which program you choose, you get access to a personal coach, unless you just go with the free option which is just using the app. Noom does offer a 14 day free trial for those looking to just try it out before fully committing to the program and figuring out if noom is worth it or not.

Although weight watchers has the name recognition in the health industry, Noom has the personal touch that I think is important to one’s success.
What I mean by that is, regardless of which program you choose, noom gives you access to a personal coach. Yes weight watchers offers a package where you can get a personal coach, but it comes at much higher cost to the user.
Now weight watchers does have the option to attend weight loss meetings, but life can be so busy, that you may find yourself not having time to attend them.
That’s why it’s important to have that person guiding you from wherever you are, and noom has that at a very affordable price.
When it comes to technology, both programs give you the tools to be successful. But sometimes losing weight is more than just healthy eating and daily exercise. Sometimes it takes that person holding you accountable.
Which is why I feel that having a coach so important. And since both a personal trainer and nutritionist can be expensive, the noom weight loss program provides you with just that without have to break the bank for it.
The noom weight loss program tries to take a different approach when it comes to helping people lose weight. Unlike most weight loss programs where they just try to help you manage diet and exercise, noom tries to go a bit deeper.

So for those that are looking for an actual voice to help guide them through their weight loss journey, you may not find that with this program.
Weight Watchers – when it comes to support, the weight watchers program provides a good amount of it. They provide you with 24/7 online chat along with access to their community of other members looking to lose weight.
And if you feel you need a more personal touch where actual conversation is happening, there are also weekly group meetings for you to go to. Of course access to this is dependent on which membership you choose. Something I will be going over soon.

Mayo Clinic – because this program uses the food pyramid as a guide as to what you should be eating, you get to choose what you want to eat. Just make sure they are healthy choices of course.
Making sure your diet is well balanced will be key to you getting the best results. But if for some reason you don’t find yourself eating all the foods suggested, it’s ok as long as they are healthy.
Weight Watchers – this program uses points as a guide for how you choose your meals. The healthier the food item, the lower the points that are towards your smartpoints goal.
